Chinese New Year.

We got to make some Origami New Year decorations with two teachers from Hill Street. They also told us the story of how each animal earned their place on the calendar. This year is the the year of the Rat and many of us were born in the year of the Rat.

Author Reading.

We were lucky to meet the author of the Star Club series of books. Her name is Natasha Mac a'Bhaird. She told us how she loved to write stories and plays when she was our age and act them out with her brothers and sister. She read to us from her new book and we had loads of questions for her. She answered all our questions and played a quiz with us at the end. It was really nice to meet a real author.

Inner City Helping Homeless.

We were lucky enough to receive a visit from Ger from ICHH before Christmas. He talked to us about the crisis in our area and how his charity was helping. We collected hats, scarves, gloves, chocolate and socks to donate to ICHH and then we organised a cake sale to raise money for them. We invited Ger to our school show so that we could present him with our donation! He was so grateful and told us how much of a difference our donation was going to make to the homeless people of Dublin.

Hip Hop Dancing

We are exploring Hip Hop dancing with Olwyn every Monday afternoon. Dancing is a great way to keep us fit as well as having fun while doing it!

Math Time!

IZAK 9, our math cubes are helping us to develop our mental math skills and all our concrete materials are not only fun to use but are developing our math skills!
Tag Rugby

5th Class enjoyed lots of fun activities in their first term at school. Here are some of our favourite memories from; Malahide Castle, exploring capacity, Halloween games and  art.
