Our Animal Drawings
Ms O'Callaghan and Ms Whiston's classes have been working on our drawing skills. We learnt all about shapes, lines and shading. Our teachers were blown away by our drawing skills and we were chuffed with ourselves as well. We are so proud of our work, take a look!

Happy Halloween from Spooky Second Class
Oíche Shamhna shona daoibh! Our week has been full of frighteningly fun Halloween activities! We made clay pumpkins and straw skeletons, danced the Thriller on the big yard and even video called Dracula himself! Check out our fantastic costumes too.
Fun and Games in 2nd Class
2nd class are working very hard since they returned to school. The children are using Seesaw to access homework assignments and have started GAA practice with our coach Mark. The children have worked so hard we even found time to have some Golden Time this week.
We have been talking about wellbeing and how we keep our bodies and minds healthy. We wrote a list of things we can do that make us happy. Then we stuck them into our new scrapbooks which we will be keeping our wellbeing activities in. Our scrapbooks will be our keepsakes of Second Class.
Here we are making collages based on the poem 'Frank the Friendly Alien' by Kenn Nesbitt. We have been learning the poem and having lots of fun making art and drama about it.
We have been working really hard in 2nd class over the past two weeks. The children have been learning all about themselves in English and Gaeilge. They have been exploring 2D shapes in maths and have been on a shape hunt in the classroom and the yard. They even made 2D shape robots! We wrote beautiful Thank You cards to people in our community that help us and discussed why saying thank you is so important! We have been working on using our imaginations in drama and drawing. The children have great imaginations are very good at sharing and explaining their ideas. We even had time to enjoy some athletics for P.E this week!
Welcome to your new school!
Well done to all the children in second class who have settled into their new school and routine so easily this week. We are looking forward to all the exciting things we are going to do this year.
