Hello 2nd Class,
We hope you and your families are all well. We certainly miss being in school and all the fun we have there. We hope we can all be together soon when this period of isolation ends!
The Home Study plans have lots of ideas to keep you busy while we're apart. We realise that some days you will be able to get more done than others. That's okay! If you could try to get 3 tasks completed a day that would be doing great. Choose activities from the Choice Board that sound interesting to you, and try to do one of the P.E. activities each day to keep your body strong and healthy! We love seeing what you've been doing, so keep emailing us your work at the email address.

Izak9 is a mathematical problem solving activity that is challenging, requires teamwork and is also a lot of fun!
Dance Monkey!
Ms. Gillespie's class performed the hit song, "Dance Monkey" at assembly. Not only did we sing and dance, but we also made a music video and monkey masks to make it the sell-out show of the year!!
We had so much fun and we're very proud of our performance!
It's the 100th Day of School!
2nd class are loving hockey!
We are developing our dribbling and passing skills and we are enjoying every moment of it!

DFL reward! The excellent behaviour, good attendance and punctuality of 2nd class earned them a reward today--a pizza party! Discipline for Learning (DFL) allows children to track their own behaviour, attendance and punctuality while earning rewards. We're delighted with the success of 2nd class. Well done!
Ms. Gillespie's class also made a trip to the GPO to post our letters to Santa. We saw some wonderful Christmas decorations!

GAA!
2nd class are doing a fantastic job at developing their GAA skills! We were recently visited by Michael Darragh MacAuley, who showcased the magnificent trophies that he's won with the Dublin Gaelic Football Team!
YOGA! 2nd class tried some yoga and they were terrific! Yoga is great when you need to stretch your body and relax your mind. If you'd like to try it at home you can watch the yoga videos at www.cosmickids.com.

RUMMIKUB FUN in 2nd class! This is a fun game that can be played by people of all ages. 2nd class are loving it!
Rummikub
This week 2nd class were introduced to a game called 'Rummikub'.
Rummikub is a fun way for learning maths! Parents were invited to join the fun and we hope to see more parents for some "Rummifun".
HAPPY HALLOWEEN! We celebrated Halloween in 2nd class by dressing up in spectacular costumes and visiting the Central Library for a spooky music lesson. Finally we played some traditional Halloween games in our classroom.
160 Years of Central Model Schools!
This year Central Model Schools celebrate 160 years! To mark this wonderful anniversary, 2nd class have started sketching our beautiful and unique school building. They really do have an eye for design!
MATHLETICS 2nd class have started using Mathletics, an online maths programme . We're using Mathletics in class but the children can also access it at home. It's fun and helps support their learning!
LITERACY Ms. Kildee's Literacy Group are reading Horrid Henry's Birthday Party by Francesca Simon. We were describing the main character, Henry. We think he's crazy, greedy, unfriendly and silly!
MALAHIDE On Friday 20th September we celebrated Tree Day in Malahide. We played in the park, took a long walk in the woods and had a lovely picnic by the castle!
GAA SKILLS 2nd class has been enjoying improving our GAA skills!
