Letter to Parents 3/6/20
I hope you and your families enjoyed the wonderful sunshine over the Bank Holiday weekend. There are just three weeks remaining until the end of term. Children should continue to complete a small amount of schoolwork every day. Suggestions of work are on the Home Study Plans elsewhere on the website. Please continue to send work on See Saw or by email. RTE School Hub has been an excellent resource for primary school children and a number of children’s authors are speaking about children’s books this week. Ms Kildee is reading The BFG by Roald Dahl – all the early chapters are on the website. This is a lovely book, read beautifully by Ms Kildee!
Many of you are concerned about what school will look like on our return on 26thAugust. We are waiting for the details, from the Department of Education and Skills, of how schools should operate when we re-open. As soon as we are given instructions on this we will be in touch. Some parents have expressed their concern that children may be anxious and fearful. Please be assured that we will do everything we can to make your child feel safe and happy when he/ she returns. We will focus on well-being and social skills. In the meantime, we need you to reassure your children, share your calm, share your strength, share your laughter and share your love with them so that they will be ready to return to us. Please don’t stress about schoolwork. We will get your child back on track.
